2023 was a gigantic blessing to many... 2024, promises even greater good.

2023 ~ Nothing short of miraculous!
What a blessing to be apart of peoples journey of Recovery and Faith!

HRR's 1st Women’s Sober Living House: We opened in March 2023. With the help of our amazing Board, especially KP, we began some life-giving rhythms throughout the year, including a monthly women’s recovery Bible Study. Our 1st resident guests Marina, and her adorable twins, were and are right at home in this quaint neighborhood— by the grace of God! HRR House is looking good.

If you remember, last year, we had a very hard time with the neighbors, before we even finished renovating or occupying the home! But God was at work… over time each neighbor from both sides and across the street came to apologize and tell me they were happy to see the place cleaned up and become home to such a sweet family!

Marina (mom) completed her education this year to become CADC-I  She is currently working in the field of Recovery.

She’s also been warmly welcomed into life at her church (KHC) and the girls delight everyone, everywhere they go! Prayers answered! Hope, healing, and way of life!

We also welcomed Andrea and her TWINS (13 months old) to HRR House in December!

It was a glorious Christmas watching these mamas experience a safe, sober, Christ centered Holiday’s and the launch of the New Year. Please pray for them.

The Men's House: We housed 10 men throughout 2023. We're so grateful to see men experience hope, healing and purpose: Cristian shipped off to Army Bootcamp this week! Patrick moved into a sweet apt in South Redondo and is teaching golf! There are new stories being discovered as men discover genuine faith and recovery.

And the work continues...
There is hope as long as there is a heart beat and breath.

November 2023 we added 2 Board members Nick Barnard and Rodney Fiedler, both solid men of God and deeply connected to Recovery as a way of life! I hope you get to meet them in the days to come. We’re Blessed.

2023’s BIG announcement: Dan’s leaving King's Harbor Chuch to go full time as Harbor Rock Recovery CEO

Why: it’s time… After 22 years with KHC, with the blessing of the Elders and the wise and loving support of my wife I plan to devote myself, full time, to the ongoing and developing ministry of helping people discover Recovery Resources and connecting the dots to a vibrant faith experience for a life of freedom and purpose. I'll be training faith leaders, serving alongside our faith partners and the community toward the heart of our ministry; Freedom and Purpose

When:  By faith, I am already planning my exit from KHC. I will officially become a paid staff member of Harbor Rock Recovery this summer. In order to make this possible, HRR needs 6 months of operating expenses, including my salary, in the bank. We’re happy to give you number’s. Contact us to set an appointment for more information.

How: Developing funding streams primarily with the generosity and support of people who know, understand, and trust us. Fortunately, there’s a rich history of our efforts and work here in the South Bay. We’re asking this community to individually invest in the heart of our ministry. Individual donors like you represents 65% of our proposed budget.  We're also branching out in two ways:

* We are asking for support from local churches

*We’ve been asked to submit a grant proposal for our Sober Living Houses with great expectations of being funded.

Most importantly we know,
“unless the Lord builds… the laborers labor in vain”

Looking forward…
Trusting God …
Helping others …

2023 was hard for a lot of people, including our Sober Living guests!

With the help of generous, skilled and sneaky friends we saw the people we serve cared for in a variety of ways. "Sneaky" was often those who would come offer help then see a need and fill it, not asking for anything but to let them serve or give!

We are humbled and grateful!

Some of you gave in-kind services, like landscaping, plumbing and electrical work! Some brought groceries, diapers, coffee pods, or purchased new sheets and towels! While others gave financially to help us help our residents enjoy this amazing South Bay community at below market rents. South Bay Faith ~ Recovery Community ROCKS!

We couldn't do this without your help! On behalf of those we serve, THANK YOU

HRR team!
